This means that if you are a current member and renew using the coupon
jbrenewal + bamboochristmas you receive 36% off the renewal cost.
If your subscription is still current and not due to run out for a few months yet then renewing now simply adds the new subscription time onto your old subscription.
Please note that the coupon will only be available until the 24th December, so you have a little over a week to take advantage of these savings. Also to take advantage of both coupons you need to enter the first coupon code, hit apply and then enter the second coupon code and the discount will be automatically deducted from the subscription amount.
If you happen to have subscribed in the past few days - since the 10th - please let me know and Ill extend your subscription by 20%. I always feel a little sad for people that miss out on coupons by a day or so.

Thanks to Ryan Demmer, the developer of the amazing Joomla content editor (JCE) we now have a JCE plugin that will render the styles used by JB Type directly into the content editor window.
In the past if you wanted to use JB Type there was no way of seeing the end result without hitting apply and then navigating to the front end of your website. This JCE plugin is the missing link for the JB Type plugin and will change the way that you style your content.

Development on our December Joomla template release is coming along well, albeit a little delayed given the tardiness of the last release. So in anticipation of the release - which we are hoping to get out either this week or early next week - I thought I would post some more screenshots. Some of the elements are yet to be filled in but I think its shaping up nicely.
Check out the full screnshot after the jump.

A few days ago I started to roll out the first stage of updates across our Joomla extensions and Joomla template catalogue. As you may have seen we released v1.1 of the Zen Grid Framework with the release of the Powerplay Joomla template but it's yet to be made available for the rest of the Zen Grid framework compatible templates. The process in moving to v1.1 for the rest of the templates is a little complex due to the fact that we are also rolling out a new version of the JB Library plugin, as well as some major updates to all of our core extensions so the rollout is going to be a little staggered. I had planned to release all of this earlier this week but decided to hold off releasing templates and their quickstart packages until everything was absolutely ready.
So if you want to cut to the chase we have updates for the following modules and plugins:
JB LibraryMinimoo2, PrettySlider, Captify Content, jTweet, Slideshow3, Microblog, Bamboo Box

The Joomla template for december is a tumblr inspired blogging template that we are hoping is going to feature an integration for the Lifestream component from our friends over at Joomlashack. If you haven't seen it the Lifestream extension is a way to pull various feeds from social networking sites into your Joomla site to give you a live stream of your presence on the web. The screenshot featured below is still a work in progress and is truncated at about the halfway mark. This variation is a kind of retro earthy theme variation but there are other more synamic styles planned.
Ill update the screenshot as the theme is finalised in the next few days.
Checkout the screenshot after the jump.

Im happy to announce (finally!) the release of our November Joomla template called Powerplay. Powerplay is a business minded template that is built on version 1.1 of the Zen Grid Framework. We are in the process of moving all current framework themes to the latest version of the framework and when that happens Ill let you know about it's official release.
For now you can see the Powerplay in action, scour the documentation, get an overview of the features or go directly to download it. Ill be updating via the blog as we update extensions, templates and the framework with the new features and functionality that I think you will all love.
I'd also like to remind members of our policy of honouring template delivery if we release a template late. So if your subscription expired between the first and the 24th of November and you didn't get a chance to download Powerplay, please contact us via the contact form and we will extend the term of the subscription for you.

We have just finalised the design for the next Joomla template (coming in November) and it's another fast loading business template. Over the past year we have had a lot of feedback about members needing fast loading, business friendly designs and so in the tradition of Avanti, Rasa and Newstream - we give you Powerplay. You can see a full screenshot after the jump.

This is just a short note to let you know that the JB LIbrary plugin has just been updated to include jQuery v1.4.3. I haven't had much time to delve into the new stuff in this release but from the jQuery 1.4.3 release notes the overhaul to the way the library handles css looks pretty amazing.
I can't wait to dig into it to see what new magical jQuery styling is now possible for css elements. I have also been wondering if one of the triggers for rewriting the module had anything to do with the gaining popularity of css3 - especially it's ability to create javascript like javascript-less effects. Whether thats the case or not this version of the library certainly looks like it's improved it's performance again which is excellent news for any web developer.
You can get the jQuery library from the jQuery project page or download the free JB LIbrary plugin for use on your Joomla site.

Im happy once again to announce the release of the Inside Out Joomla Template which is a little late due to illness a few weeks ago. If you missed the sneak preview a few weeks ago the template has a unique left column layout that uses a fixed menu to keep your menu up front and on the page regardless of where the user scrolls to through your content. It also comes with a crisp K2 template which slots nicely into the magazine feel of the template in general.
For further details you can see the feature overview, scour the documentation, peruse the demo site or check out a full screenshot of the template below.
Due to the late release of this template if your subscription expired at any point between the 1st of October and the 14th of October and you were entitled to download this template you may contact us via the contact form and we will give you access to the downloads. This is a club policy that also translates for any other month where a template was released late, so if you fall into this category for any previously released templates please contact us and we will provide you with the template and quickstart package.

In case you missed the official announcement Joomla 1.5.21 has been released to fix a medium level XSS injection. It's recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of Joomla if you haven't done so already.
When I first started working with Joomla four years ago I would regularly use the Fantastico one click install on my cpanel account to install Joomla. While this was a really easy way to install Joomla there was a major drawback - the Fantastico version of Joomla was routinely out of date - and sometimes a few versions out of date at that. So I would often wait days and maybe weeks before the latest version became available to update. At that time I didnt have the skill or the knowledge to update Joomla manually so I was at the mercy of my host and how quickly they implemented Fantastico updates.

Back in December I announced a change in our pricing structure for our Joomla template club - a change that I have let slide for almost 10 months now. So given that the Australian dollar is almost at parity with the US Dollar and that I first gave warning of the change in December I thought it only right that I implement the change now.
The good news is that you still have a week to sign up under the old prices as the new structure wont take effect until Friday 15th October and then renewing members will get a discount on any renewal anyway.
I've pasted the amended price structure below but the current prices will still apply for the next seven days.

This is another classic early 90's techno track that I find is great for pulling out when I want to pick up the pace a little. Once again it's probably not for everyone but if you are in the mood for a slightly underground early trance sound then you can't go further than Mantra from CJ Bolland.
