I had originally meant to write this post in December in the spirit of my past efforts at the end of year wrap up. But some where between the intense heat we have been experiencing this summer in Australia and our time consuming redesign this post went awry.
So here is a list of things on the web at the moment that I find are invaluable when it comes to developing our Joomla templates.
Last week we announced the new exclusive deals for our members which can be found on our club members profile page. Yesterday I added a very special coupon for some products that I'm sure you know very well - Akeeba Backup.
Akeeba Backup create quite a number of extensions but there are two that I consider to be must haves for any serious Joomla site - Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools. If you don't know what these extensions do head over to the Akeeba site and take a look. I guarantee you wont be able to live with out them after seeing what they do.
To get access to the coupon code just log into your account and open the panel entitled "Exclusive deals for our members". You will see the long list of coupons that you can use on our favourite Joomla providers including Akeeba Backup, Anything Digital, OS Training, Stack Ideas, Jomsocial and more.
As a part of our redesign last month. I added a new way to preview our responsive Joomla templates.
The responsive preview button when clicked will load the template's demo site in an iframe and display some icons that allow you to change the size of the demo site.
So you can quickly see how the design changes as the screen size changes.
The neat thing about this is that we lazyloaded the iframe via the use of data attributes so that we weren't loading the demo site on each and every page load and only if the visitor wants to see it.
I have just added a new live search functionality to the new topic, new ticket and search pages on the Joomlabamboo site. So now when you type a word into the title box of your next ticket or forum thread you will see a list of items that may be relevant for your question.
I'm happy to announce the availability of the February Joomla template release - New Lifestyle. New Lifestyle is a clean magazine / ecommerce theme for Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3+. It features support for K2 via Zenkit, Hika Shop and JCal Pro.
I posted an update on our forum regarding this last week explaining that the release had been delayed and that we were actually going to skip the Janaury template release. Before you read on let me get to the good part - everyone has had an extra month added to their subscription.
It's unfortunate that we had to make the decision to skip a month but I felt that it was the best course of action to take when I weighed up all of the possibilities.
I'm happy to announce the availability of the Sidewinder template. Sidewinder is built on the latest T3 framework (T3bs3) which (among other things) features an awesome new off canvas menu with 14 beautiful effects.
Sidewinder is a side aligned folio theme with masonry (flexible jig saw) layouts baked right into the Joomla category and featured views. It also sports full support for our flexible responsive module called Zentools and our responsive templates for K2 called Zenkit.
I have just spent some time updating our Joomla template demo frame.
It had been a few years since we spent any time on the frame design itself and I think it was starting to show. The new layout carries a lot more information and I think makes it easier to get a sense of the character of each design.
It's been a while since we released a Joomla 3 update for one of our previous Joomla templates, but today I am happy to announce that Sidetrack and Fullscreen are both now available for Joomla 3. In addition to this let me introduce to you Zen Grid Framework v3.
Both of these new themes have been released for Zen Grid Framework v3 which we are also releasing today.
So how did this new version of the framework come about?
As a little bit of history we made some changes to the club back in January 2013. We moved all of our Joomla template development to the T3 framework. We wrote a long blog post outlining this decision which could be summed up as Joomla 3 + Bootstrap = time for us to make a change.
On Friday when I announced our Black Friday sale I mentioned that we would also be releasing an awesome new initiative for Cyber Monday with some of our other Joomla friends.
The Joomla site builder kit is a special collection of Joomla products and services that we think will be very helpful when you build your next Joomla site.
For $37, you get over $100 worth of value including:
